¿Cuál es la última historia de Esther?/ Which one is Esther's last story?

Digamos que hay dos vertientes de Esther una con dos coletas, esta, termina en el número de la revista Lily 1045. A partir de aquí inicia su andadura una revista llamada Esther, que empieza desde el inicio, es decir, con la de edad de 13 años. En estas historias Esther tiene otro look con una coleta alta.

We may say there are two different Esthers, one with two ponytails that ends in Lily magazine num 1045. From there on she continues in a magazine called Esther, starting again, that is, at the age of 13. In this stories Esther has only one ponytail.

¿Cuál es la trama de esta última historia de Esther?/Which is the plot of this last story?

El último número en el que aparece Esther en la revista lily (1045), Esther se encuentra veraneando en la granja de su tía donde conoce a un chico que le cuenta que tuvo una novia que murió ahogada. A su regreso a casa, en la estación de tren, se encuentra con Juanito que ha ido a despedir a una chica, Jazmin que era una nueva novia japonesa de Juanito . Esther le dice que no parece estar muy triste por la marcha de la chica y Juanito le responde que no lo esta pero en cambio esta contento por ver la carita pecosa de la mujer que siempre ha amado. En opinión de muchas un final bastante “simple”.

En cuanto a la otra Esther, la de una coleta alta que aparece en la revista quincenal Esther, no hay un final definitivo. El último número de Bruguera, el 117, termina que Rita y Juanito son pareja y en la Revista Pecosa (ediciones B) donde continúan estas aventuras no hay un final concreto.

Anexo- En el 1047 de la revista Lily vuelve a empezar las historias de Esther desde el principio, con el look dos coletas. Es a partir del 1151, cuando desaparece Esther de los lilys y en su lugar se coloca CANDY CANDY.

The last number in which Esther appears in Lily Magazine (1045), Esther is spending the summer in her aunt's farm where she meets a boy that tells her he had a girlfriend that died drowned. When she goes back home, in the train station, she meets Juanito that has gone to see off a girl, Jazmin, who was his new japanese girlfriend. Esther tells him he doesn't seem to be too sad by the girl's departure and Juanito answers he isn't but instead he's happy to see the freckled face of the woman he's always loved. In the opinion of many fans, a "simple ending".

As for the other Esther, the one with a single pony tail that appears in the fortnightly Esther magazine, there isn't a definitive ending. Bruguera's last number, the 117, fiished with Rita and Juanito being a couple and in Pecosa Magazine (ediciones B), where the adventures continued, there is no ending.

Annex- In the Lily number 1047 Esther starts again from the beginning. Is from the number 1151 when it disappears from the Lilys to make way to Candy Candy.

¿Dónde puedo comprar cómics de Esther?/Where can I buy Esther comics?

Como todas hemos comprobado, conseguir las historias de Esther está muy complicado. Los vendedores se están dando cuenta de la gran demanda que hay, y últimamente han subido mucho los precios de los poco ejemplares que hay circulando por ahí. Sin embargo, desde la reedición, los precios han bajado considerablemente en los tomos.

To get old Esther's stories is complicated. Sellers are noticing the increasing demand and prices are high. Some numbers are difficult to get. However, since the reedition, the old Blue volumes are much cheaper.

¿Por qué los pockets tienen nombres diferentes a las otras historias?/Why the pocket edition has different names to the other stories?

Estos tebeos en formato bolsillo pertenecen a una colección donde se publicaron las 21 primeras historias de Esther. También existe una serie llamada "Súper Esther", que agrupa, de tres en tres, estos tomitos.

Estos tebeos más pequeños se diferencian de los que están en formato grande, en que les faltan algunas viñetas que sí aparecen en el otro formato. Son como condensaciones de las aventuras.

Además, no coinciden los títulos de las tebeos en formato grande y los de los libros en formato bolsillo, pero sí las historias. Se puede saber a qué título de las historias corresponde un tebeo de los pequeños, mediante su número de publicación.

Por ejemplo, "Me siento melancólica" es el número 17 de la colección de bolsillo y, por tanto, se corresponde con ¡Amnesia!, la historia de Esther publicada en el decimoséptimo lugar.

This comics in pocket size belong to a collection where 21 of the first Esther adventures were published. There is, also, a series called "Super Esther" that compiles thre stories in every volume.

This smaller comics are different from the bigger ones, some of the frames are missing there bu they appear in other formats. They are like condensation of adventures.  Moreover, the titles are different from the big formats and the pocket sizes one, but the stories are the same. You can know which title matches the smaller ones according to its publication number.

For example, the Story "I'm feeling melancholic" is number 17 in the pocket collection, and therefore, matches "¡Amnesia!", the Esther story published in the 17th place.

¿Por qué en las historias "escaneadas" existe un "Despedida de soltera" que es igual que "Aventura bajo la lluvia?/Why in the "scanned" stories there is a "Hen Party" that is the same as "Adventure under the Rain"? 

Respecto a la duda de "Aventura bajo la lluvia" y "Despedida de soltera" son la misma historia, os confirmo que así es. No existe ningún tebeo con el título "Despedida de soltera". "Aventura bajo la lluvia" sigue en la numeración de sus páginas a "Aventura en navidad" y, además, su contenido está al principio relacionado con una despedida de soltera.

In relation to "Adventure under the Rain" and "Hen Party", they are the same story. There is none titled "Hen Party". "Adventure under the Rain" continues the page number in "Christmas Adventures" and moreover, its contents are at the start of it related with a hen party.

Errores de Bruguera/Mistakes by Bruguera

Las historias El enfado de Rita y Los amuletos de la suerte están invertidas. Es decir, atendiendo a la numeración, Los amuletos de la suerte va en primer lugar. Este error se puede apreciar en el tomo número 10 de primera edición.
Tanto en los tomos, como en la colecciones Joyas Literarias Juveniles, Joyas Femeninas Selección y Súper Joyas, Bruguera se saltó hojas que sí aparecen en la revista Lily. Si os fijáis en el margen inferior derecho de las páginas, la numeración en muchos casos salta, faltando en ocasiones una gran cantidad de hojas.
Los tomos de la primera edición y los de la nueva edición revisada no tienen las historias correlacionadas, lo que quiere decir que hay que coleccionar una edición u otra pero no se pueden mezclar entre ellas. Como recomendación es mejor la primera, en principio tiene más número de historias de Esther, también tiene 10 volúmenes puesto que de la segunda sólo hay 9, y la calidad en cuanto a las hojas e impresión es mucho mejor en la primera edición.

The stories "Rita's Anger" and "The Lucky Charms" are reversed. This is, according to numeration, the Lucky Charms should be first. This mitake can be appreciated in the First Edition of Volume 10.

In the book volumes and in the Joyas Literarias Juveniles, Joyas Femeninas Seleccion and Super Joyas, Bruguera left out pages that were published in Lily magazine. If you look at the right inferior margin in every page, the numbers in most of them jump, sometimes even missing loads of pages.

The first edition volumes and the new revised edition do not have the stories in the same order, therefore you have to have  one collection or the other but you can't mix them. As a recommendation, the first one is better, it has more stories, is ten volumes as well, while the second edition only has 9, and the quality of the paper and printing is much better in the first one as well.
